Education

Many opportunities are available for you and your family to participate in learning events offered by the education ministry of Grace.  Meeting, knowing, and having Jesus formed in us is a life-long process.  Christian education comes in many different ways for all ages -- discussions, classes, ongoing studies, one time experiences, books, and now web learning.

AFTER SCHOOL

Grades 6 and 7 can participate in this program in which they survey the Bible and learn about every book in the Bible.  This runs from 3:30 - 5:00 from October through March.

BIBLE STUDIES / CLASSES

Sunday Morning - A variety of classes, topics, formats and discussions are offered on Sunday mornings between worship services during the school year.

Tuesday Morning -  This conversational study and informal reading of the Bible, along with Pastor's commentary, meets at 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday Night Group - This class of engaging thought and discussion follows a curriculum led by Dick Huntoon.  They meet at 7:15 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Wednesday Night Group - This women's Bible study meets the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Women of the ELCA -
The ELCA has a study designed specifically for women, www.lutheranwomantoday.org or www.womenoftheelca.org, explains this resource. Grace has several small group “circles” that meet monthly for this study and for fellowship.

Premarital -
Pastor meets with couples to prepare for marriage highlighting five areas that have the most impact for a blessed and happy marriage:

1.      Personality – realizing the unique personality and gift of each partner

2.      Family of Origin – claiming the influence of one’s own experience of family in order to plan and create a new family

3.      Spirituality – accepting and nurturing God’s peace as the foundation and guide in this relationship

4.      Communication – the importance of listening and being clear on what we want

5.      Finances – being open to advice and guidance and planning for the future

Grief Support - regular sessions on grief support are offered in the Tomahawk community. Contact the Church Office on when and where this grief support will be meeting.

See INSPIRATION (at left column) for more studies and classes.
