CONFIRMATION
Grades 8 and 9 participate in Confirmation Ministry.
There are seven keys to this ministry:
- Catechism = learning the essentials of the Christian
faith as presented in the Bible, i.e. Ten Commandments, Creed,
Lord’s Prayer, Baptism and Communion
- Relationship = meeting with the same adult and same
3-5 youth over the two year time in a “mentor group”
- the home = devotions at home coordinated with the
theme for each 2-week period using the Living Faith: Yearbook &
Home Journal
- Experience = retreats, Camp, Quakes, and a Wilderness
Trip
- Worship = participating in Sunday and Lenten Worship
- Service/Fellowship = faith becoming active in service
and supported by a community
- Brain research = laughter, music, fun, interruptions,
and repetition as key ingredients in learning
Grace Lutheran uses the resources of Faithinkubator for our
Confirmation Ministry. The goal of this is to “grow Junior High
small groups into a Senior High community ‘by injecting the DNA of
Jesus’ into the nucleus of each cell through the love, care and
attention of an impact adult called a mentor.”
